Frequently Asked Questions

Why didn't ClearQuery ingest my dataset file?

The ClearQuery front end is optimized to ingest .csv or JSON files with a maximum size of 2GBs.

Recommendation: If a user wants to manually upload a file greater than that size, they can split the file into 2GB increments and “Add Data” to the dataset to create a larger dataset.

To add data to a dataset once the base file has been ingested, navigate to the Dataset Management page and find the applicable dataset. Hover over the "Actions" dropdown and select "Add Data." From here ClearQuery will walk the user through adding another file. Note: make sure the new file contains the same dataset schema as the original.

I am having issues logging into ClearQuery, I know my username and password are correct. What can I try differently?

Both ClearQuery usernames and passwords are case sensitive.

Recommendation: If a user is having issues logging in and has already attempted changing their password, ask your organization’s admin to verify your username, noting if any characters are uppercase. (This can also be verified on the password reset screen and automated email)

Why am I having trouble finding specific values in my dataset?

Parts of ClearQuery are case sensitive and thus will only provide results if the search input is an exact match to the data. For example, if the term “Tesla” exists in a dataset and the user enters a Keyword Search for “tesla” the system might not return a result as the two are not an identical match.

Recommendation: try searching for the term with or without uppercase letters and see if a result is provided.

Why can't I merge multiple datasets?

In order to merge multiple datasets, the datasets must contain a common field. The common field must have a field type of either: Categorical, Numeric, or decimal.

AskCQ is not providing me with expected results, what am I doing wrong?

If you are asking your dataset questions and not receiving the results you expect or anything at all, check the below list for tips:

  • Have you created synonyms for the dataset fields? If not,
  • Are you typing the referenced field names identically to how they are in the system?
  • Have you reviewed the AskCQ Help Article for tips or reviewed the sample question structure section? https://knowledge.clearquery.io/knowledge/ask-clearquery-1
  • Clicking into the input field will provide example questions the user can ask based on the dataset. Try selecting one of those and edit the inputs for the desired results.
Why is the "Add User" button greyed out?

If the "Add User" button is greyed out, it means your subscription does not allow for additional users. You can either upgrade your subscription to a tier with more seats or contact us for additional options. support@clearquery.io

When trying to add users to my organization the system says the email is already in use. How do I add that user to my ClearQuery organization?

If an email already exists within ClearQuery, that user can be invited to join / collaborate with your organization. Go to the invitations tab in Organization Settings and enter the user's email address to add them to your organization.

Once they accept the invitation, the user will then be able to switch between organizations to collaborate on your datasets.

Note: this will count as a user in your subscription.

What is the difference between an Admin and User role?

The Admin role can access the following items, which users are restricted from:

  • Organization Settings
  • The Compliance Feature
